MONTENEGRO

One of the most popular up and coming destinations of the Mediterranean, Montenegro is the country that has it all – beautiful Adriatic Coast, unfathomable mountain ranges and great food. It could probably be best described in the words of Lord Byron, who said: “At the moment of the creation of our planet, the most beautiful merging of land and sea occurred at the Montenegrin seaside... When the pearls of nature were sworn, an abundance of them were strewn all over this area”.

The biggest advantage is the unique and easy access from one destination to another – you can spend half a day swimming and sunbathing, and then enjoy a lovely after noon discovering beautiful walking trails or rafting in the Europe’s deepest canyon of the Tara river and stargazing in the evening up in the north. A great selection of cultural sites and landmarks make it hard to decide which place is the definite hot spot from island - hotel Sveti Stefan, Budva – the favorite clubbing and nightlife destination, through Porto Montenegro – nautical village and luxury yacht club in Tivat, museum-town Perast and its 2 jewel islands – Our Lady of the Rocks and St. George Island at the very heart of the Boka Bay, royal Cetinje – old capital of Montenegro, to ski centers in Kolašin and Žabljak.

Rich natural beauties are best represented through five National Parks, starting with the Skadar Lake – the largest lake in the Balkan Peninsula and Lovćen – rising above the Adriatic, both in the southern part of the country. Moving towards north, you’ll find the oldest National Park in Montenegro and the unique rain forest in this part of Europe – Biogradska Gora, located in the central region; Prokletije – the southern Alps of Europe at the border with Kosovo, Albania and Serbia and finally the biggest National Park – Durmitor with its glacial lakes, among which Crno Lake is the most popular. During your journey, this land offers you tastes and savors which represent the best mix of the Mediterranean cuisine complimented with genuine and autochthonous wine varietals – from our very own kačamak, cicvara, carp, pit roasted lamb and veal to fresh fish and seafood delicacies. So many things to enjoy, so start planning ahead!
